It’s all a feeling. Guus Christian is driven by a deep love for dancefloor culture. A love for all things soulful is expressed in his joyous and inviting DJ sets. Digging deep, exploring and connecting sounds from different eras and origins together with the people on his dancefloor. Building on the foundations of the pioneers from New York and Chicago and keeping the spirit of House alive. Looking for the human touch in electronic music, embracing melodies, organic sounds, live percussion and complex emotions. He’s played at clubs and festivals like Doka, Salon Des Amateurs, Skatecafe, Down the Rabbit Hole, and Drift. Sometimes, he plays long sets together with his friend Sander Emil as Shared Joy.
Behind the scenes, Guus puts in the work for long running club night Blauwdruk, as promotor and resident DJ, and as label manager for the Blauwdruk Records label. With Blauwdruk, he champions a loving dancefloor, and invites internationally respected DJs to Nijmegen. He also works in the digger’s paradise Marini Records at Paak Vinyl Bar, where he holds a DJ residency as well. Together with Mario Marini, he pushes vinyl culture with the Nimma Record Fair. When he’s not playing for dancefloors or doing work behind the scenes, Guus is sharing and championing music both new and obscure at different radio stations. With a residency at Open Source Radio and appearances on Operator, Radio Tempo Nao Para, Headstream, Refuge Worldwide and more he touches on a wide range of music from ambient to jazz and from boogie to techno.
