Ferenc Ratkai
Upcoming event: 06.05.2026 - 05:00
My name is Ferenc Ratkai, currently based in Leiden, The Netherlands. After having earlier interactions with electronic music before, my real passion for music began for me in early 2020. Being in a lockdown and playing GTA: Online, my interest was sparked by Solomun, who has his online residency in the game. After that, I bought my first equipment and began exploring more music. As time passed, I started organizing small-scale parties and doing livestreams together with friends. My first trip to Germany (Karlsruhe, GOTEC Club) in 2021 totally changed my perspective on electronic music. After being solely into house music, I was suddenly introduced to a whole different side of techno. I was literally blown away! This was very different from the hard and commercial stuff I thought techno was before.

After hearing this type of music on a big sound system for the first time, things clicked for me. This all resulted in a direct change of my musical direction, and.the creation of 403 Forbidden in the end of 2021 (together with DORAN and Bito) As a co-founder of 403 Forbidden, I have been involved in various activities over the years, including organizing events and growing a collective-based community. Over time, we have hosted events at venues like PIP Den Haag, Wibar Leiden, Multipla Amsterdam, and our special outdoor editions. With our events, we were privileged to welcome artists from all around the world, with names like Norman Nodge, SHDW, Stef Mendesidis, MARRØN, ANNĒ, Deniro, Chami, Ruslan Mays & many more. You can find an overview of the places I played at myself over here. Besides my work for 403, I have been more focused on my own projects & music in the past months.
