Abiba is a german dancer, dj and passionate art enthusiast. She started her journey on the dance floor and is now sharing her love for music behind the decks. Her sets are deeply inspired by the rich legacy of Black art, tapping into its abundant histories of communal celebration, resistance and charity. As a rising talent emerging from the south of The Netherlands, she’s breaking through the West-dominated narrative of electronic music, aiming to create a free space of expression on the dancefloor and reintroducing others to the the roots of electronic music.
Trying to carve out spaces that are unapologetically inclusive and expressing, inviting others in an exchange through music and movement. Blending carefully selected gems, she creates a vibrant melting pot heavy in broken beat and house, full of intricate basslines, fractured beats and soulful keys. She aims to take you on a journey in her mixes, introducing the audience to tracks she truly loves. This year she debuted at the infamous Summer Dance Forever festival at Paradiso Amsterdam, played over in the UK at the Bruk Therapy Night at Grow Hackney and played a guest mix at Rinse FM, to name a few.
