JADE SOUL

This show I’m diving into Batida — a powerful electronic sound born from the Angolan diaspora and shaped in Lisbon’s underground. Its roots connect to rhythms from Luanda and styles like Kuduro, carried to Portugal where producers transformed it into a raw, futuristic club sound. Six years ago Batida captivated me. Even without understanding the language, I felt a deep spiritual connection to its rhythm and energy. Through this show I want to share what this genre means to me, while giving flowers to the producers pushing this sound forward.
